Brækhus ble adoptert fra Colombia to og et halvt år gammel, og vokste opp i Sandviken i Bergen. Hun var innom flere typer idrett, før hun begynte med kickboksing i skjul fjorten år gammel. Hun kom på landslaget som sekstenåring, og vant både EM og VM-gull. Senere gikk hun over til boksing. Etter en periode som amatørbokser begynte hun med proffboksing, men etter fire kamper sluttet hun da hun mistrivdes med treningsforholdene på Melhus utenfor Trondheim. Etter en liten periode bestemte hun seg for å fortsette, og i november 2007 tegnet hun kontrakt med den tyske klubben Sauerland Event.

Later, she went over to boxing. After a period as an amateur boxer she started with Pro boxing, but after four games she stopped when she hated it with training conditions at Melhus outside Trondheim. After a small period of time, she decided to continue, and in november 2007 the character she contract with the German Club sauerland Event.
